Here is the story about how we got an apricot mastiff

At the Millennium Mastiff's we had seen an apricot mastiff, and we quickly agreed that some day we would like to have our own apricot. That was the start of a very long search for matings - which could "result with" apricots. We wrote many breeders and got listed as "interested in an apricot puppy" both in USA, Sweden and Germany. In Germany we were listed at the kennel Burning Mountain, they had made a mating between Billa and Erebor's Xantho (Simba). Only 2 puppies were born - only one apricot (Jordan). Jordan was reserved for Simba's owner (Renate).

Next step was to write Renate for information about if there were plans for more matings with Simba. (Not only to get an apricot but also because Simba is a very hansom and very winning mastiff) A mating were already made between Simba and Raisa v. d. Duncanhof, so we were suddenly very busy with the writing of a letter to Karin and Ricard, whom owns the kennel Duncanhof in Baarle-Nassau in The Netherlands. We were lucky and Karin and Ricard were so kind to let us have the "first choice". 8 puppies were born but not all apricots.

How do you manage to be located in Denmark and choose the "right puppy" in The Netherlands? It sure was not easy, but Karin and Ricard were very kind to send us pictures - and they wrote us, which puppy they thought was best. Fortunately we agreed with Karin and Ricard - and the choice was not difficult anymore. We still think that Rusty was the best choice :-)

At the 11th of December we started our car and drove to The Netherlands to pick up our little new mastiff, Rusty v. d. Duncanhof.
